“I Must Say…” – Nick Saban Reacts To Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer’s Recent Update On Kadyn Proctor Injury Update Ahead Of Week 3

Alabama football has been without one of their key offensive linemen this season, but it appears that left tackle Kadyn Proctor is set to return to action soon. Head coach Kalen DeBoer shared encouraging news on Wednesday, stating that Proctor has been actively participating in practice and is making solid progress. This update was reported by Charlie Potter of On3 Sports, who noted that DeBoer expressed satisfaction with Proctor’s performance in practice thus far.

“Kalen DeBoer on Kadyn Proctor: ‘He’s been practicing and doing well. Doing a good job. … Is in a good spot here. Done a nice job here in the first two days of practice,’” Potter shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Proctor, a highly sought-after recruit, was ranked as one of the nation’s top high school players in the class of 2023. Initially committed to his home state of Iowa, he made a late decision to join Alabama football on signing day. His impact was immediate, as he started all 14 games at left tackle for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman last season. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team, selected by SEC coaches. Proctor’s return would provide a significant boost to Alabama’s offensive line, strengthening their protection and run-blocking abilities.

While DeBoer’s update on Proctor was positive, he also provided a less optimistic injury report regarding wide receiver and punt returner Cole Adams. According to Potter, Adams is likely to miss some time due to an injury, though the prognosis is not entirely grim.

“Kalen DeBoer on Cole Adams: ‘He will probably be doubtful,’” Potter reported on X. “‘But I think he dodged a lot of bullets with how quickly he’s gonna be coming back.’”

Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor (74) blocks Michigan Wolverines defensive lineman Mason Graham (55) during the first half in the 2024 Rose Bowl college football playoff semifinal game at Rose Bowl.

Adams’ potential absence is a setback for Alabama, as he plays a crucial role on special teams. However, DeBoer’s remarks suggest that Adams’ recovery may be quicker than initially feared. Nonetheless, Alabama will likely have to make adjustments while he heals.

Proctor’s return and Adams’ recovery will be important factors in how Alabama football navigates the upcoming games.
