The Tennessee Titans hosted three CFL players for workouts on Tuesday, as per Aaron Wilson. The players were Saskatchewan Roughriders’ receiver Samuel Emilus, Montreal Alouettes’ strong-side linebacker Reggie Stubblefield, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ linebacker Carthell Flowers-Lloyd.
Emilus made 70 receptions for 1,097 yards and six touchdowns this past season in his first as a full-time starter. The six-foot-one, 200-pound target was originally a first-round pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech University.
The Montreal native ran a 4.59-second forty-yard dash at his pro day along with a 4.13-second shuttle and 6.88 three-cone drill. He also leaped 37 inches in the vertical jump, 128 inches in the broad jump, and recorded nine reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
The 26-year-old has already worked out for the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots this off-season.
Stubblefield was Montreal’s nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie in 2023 after recording 38 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. The 25-year-old helped his team upset the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup, recording five tackles and one sack in the CFL’s title game.
Flowers-Lloyd was a standout on special teams as a CFL rookie in 2023, recording 31 special teams tackles in 18 games. He played safety at Stony Brook University and earned third-team all-conference honours in 2022 after making 70 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, and four pass breakups in 10 games.
The six-foot-two, 205-pound defender has also worked out for the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars this off-season.
All three players remain under contract in the CFL for the 2024 season but can explore NFL opportunities through the workout window, which closes on Feb. 13. The first day that CFL players can sign reserve/futures contracts with NFL teams is Jan. 8.
The Titans (5-11) will close out their regular season on Sunday, Jan. 7 when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7).
