Caitlin Clark Delivered Emotional Six-Word Message to Fever Coach After Team USA Snub

Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides spoke with reporters on Sunday morning.

This was the first time either had addressed media since it was announced that Clark would not be making the Paris 2024 Olympics team.

And Sides relayed some strong feelings about Clark’s surprising snub.

“You know, a little disappointed that she didn’t make it,” Sides said of Clark.

She then noted how her and Clark talked about the decision over text messages while they were on the Indiana Fever team bus.

Sides then said Clark gave her a passionate message upon hearing the news.

“The thing she said was, ‘hey coach, they woke a monster.'” Sides said of Clark. “Which I thought was awesome.”

While Clark remained diplomatic in her own answer about not making the team on Sunday, it sounds like she might be more upset about the decision than she initially noted.

What’s for sure is that it sounds like Clark will be using the snub as motivation moving forward.
