During the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Boston Bruins, like many other teams, faced challenges due to injuries affecting their roster. These injuries varied in severity, with some players, like Brad Marchand, missing games entirely during the postseason due to specific ailments, while others, like Jake DeBrusk, continued to play despite sustaining injuries earlier in the season, such as a broken hand.
Traditionally, details regarding NHL injuries are kept confidential until the conclusion of the season. Therefore, it wasn’t until two days after the Bruins’ playoff exit that players began to disclose information about their injuries to reporters. Among the players who shared insights into their health conditions on Sunday were Matt Grzelcyk, who suffered a torn oblique early in the season, Derek Forbort, who underwent surgeries on both groins and had thumb ligament repair, Hampus Lindholm, who sustained a knee injury in February, Danton Heinen, dealing with a “lingering” injury during the playoffs, and David Pastrnak, who faced groin issues.
Additionally, some Bruins players, whose contracts are set to expire, offered perspectives on their future with the team during the offseason. Both Jeremy Swayman and Pat Maroon expressed strong desires to continue playing for the Boston Bruins, indicating their commitment to remaining part of the organization.
