Arkansas RB transfer Dominique Johnson commits to TCU

TCU football added to its backfield on Friday, securing a commitment from former Arkansas running back Dominique Johnson, who will come to Fort Worth and reunite with new TCU running backs coach Jimmy Smith, who was hired from the Razorbacks over the offseason. Johnson spent four seasons with Arkansas, rushing for 785 yards and eight touchdowns over that time period. Johnson appeared in 32 games with the Razorbacks, with his most productive season coming during the 2021-22 campaign, where he ran for 575 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson is a 6-foot-1, 252-pounder from Crowley, Texas.

Johnson will work alongside a stable of running backs including former four-star recruit Cam Cook as well as veterans Trent Battle and Trey Sanders. TCU lost its starter from 2023, as Emani Bailey declared for the 2024 NFL Draft before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. The Horned Frogs are also welcoming in two freshman rushers including three-star recruit Nate Palmer and four-star recruit Jeremy Payne.
