Real reason Donald Trump won’t kick Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of US

Donald Trump described Meghan Markle as “terrible” this week but the world leader confirmed he would not seek to deport Harry amid an ongoing legal battle over his immigration status

Donald Trump’s decision not kick Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of the US was influenced by King Charles, an expert has claimed.

The President confirmed last week he would not seek to deport the Duke amid an ongoing legal battle over his immigration status, despite having previously suggested he might do so. In a scathing dig, Mr Trump said Harry, 40, ” has enough problems with his wife,” branding Meghan “terrible”.

But Mr Trump has made the U-turn not to deport the Duke of Sussex because of his “warm relationship” with King Charles, it is believed. The President, 78, reportedly understands the move would cause the Royal family significant distress. A source said: “Having him back in the UK is actually harder than having him kept away in the USA.”

Mr Trump and our monarch struck up a unlikely bond during Mr Trump’s first term, during which he travelled to the UK on a state visit in 2019. King Charles is reportedly in regular communication with the US President and the monarch is known to write many letters to America, including a message of support after Mr Trump survived an assassination attempt in September last year.

When father-of-two King Charles revealed his shock cancer diagnosis at the start of last year, Mr Trump said he was sending prayers for a speedy recovery to someone he “got to know well.”
