The Kansas Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59. Kansas City is looking to win its third straight Super Bowl, which is an accomplishment no other team in NFL history has achieved.
Eight Georgia Bulldogs are on NFL rosters in the Super Bowl including six former Bulldogs on the Eagles. The Eagles have former Georgia stars defensive tackle Jalen Carter, linebacker Nakobe Dean(out for the season), cornerback Kelee Ringo, edge rusher Nolan Smith, defensive tackle Jordan Davis, and safety Lewis Cine. No team in the NFL has more former Georgia players on their roster.
Nolan Smith has four sacks this postseason, which is the most of any player in the NFL. Jalen Carter is a disruptive force and has two sacks and a forced fumble this postseason.
The Kansas City Chiefs have two former UGA players in wide receiver Mecole Hardman and defensive end Malik Herring. Both Hardman and Herring won Super Bowls with Kansas City last year.
In last year’s Super Bowl, Hardman scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. However, Hardman has a smaller role for Kansas City this season. Herring was inactive for the AFC championship game.
Super Bowl 59 will be played on Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Super Bowl will be televised on Fox.
