With Signing Day in the rearview, it’s on to the next phase in the talent acquisition process–the transfer portal.
With Miami likely outside of the College Football Playoff picture after coming in ranked behind three-loss Alabama on Tuesday’s rankings release, Mario Cristobal and his staff need to begin evaluating transfer targets.
The Hurricanes have a strong foundation of talent, but supplementing at some key spots with starter-level talent will be essential to Miami sustaining success in this new era of college football.
Miami will need to navigate a tougher schedule in 2025 than they did in 2024 with the same ACC title and College Football Playoff expectations. Coming off of a 10-win season, those expectations are more than fair.
It’s very early in the transfer window, which doesn’t officially open until Monday, but some interesting names have already declared their intentions to test the open market.
Here are six players who have entered the transfer portal recently who could make sense for the Hurricanes:
- S Dillion Thieneman (Purdue)
- WR Dane Key (Kentucky)
- DL Keeshawn Silver (Kentucky)
- WR CJ Daniels (LSU)
- CB Ja’Keem Jackson (Florida)
- QB Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma)
