Report: The Chicago Bears have made significant strides in fortifying their roster
The Chicago Bears have made significant strides in fortifying their roster with the addition of nine undrafted free agents (UDFAs).
Among them is quarterback Austin Reed, three veteran tryouts, and a host of other talented rookies. To further bolster the lineup, the Bears are bringing in 24 players on a trial basis for a two-day camp.
Other notable signings include Illinois defensive tackle Keith Randolph Jr. and James Madison defensive end Jamree Kromah.
Known for his run-stopping ability, the 6-foot-3, 296-pound Randolph recorded 49 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and four tackles for loss last season.
Kromah, on the other hand, boasts of a remarkable 10-sack season at James Madison in 2023, alongside a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.67, ensuring he’s a competitor to watch.
Theo Benedet can handle the dual role of a tackle and guard effectively. Benedet, renowned for his zone scheme game, brings his 6-foot-7 image, 295-pound frame plus a 9.03 RAS.
Carl Jones is a determined linebacker from UCLA, Brendan Bates, blocking tight end from Kentucky, Reddy Steward, and cornerback from Troy, Ian Wheeler playmaking running back from Howard, and Peter LeBlanc – a receiver from Lousiana Lafayette also inked deals with the Bears.
While the Veteran tryouts include defensive back Parry Nickerson, tight end Tommy Sweeney, and receiver Freddie Swain.
This is set to be a highly competitive two-day camp inviting 24 players from various backgrounds.
