Georgia dialing up a big recruiting weekend this weekend

When all said and done, Georgia will be competing for 247Sports No. 1 ranked recruiting class again in 2025, and this weekend will go a long way towards that as Kirby Smart and his staff host some of the program’s top targets.

247Sports has already previously reported that the state’s No. 1 prospect, 247Sports’ No. 1 defensive lineman in the land and No. 3 prospect overall Elijah Griffin will be back in Athens.

“I would just say the coaching,” Griffin said of what stands out. “To be a part of a coach like Coach (Kirby) Smart. He has put multiple guys in my position in the league and they can be effective, that speaks volumes to me. Coach Smart his ability to get guys to listen that stands out to me the most.”

Georgia is in a great spot early in the cycle for Griffin, but Clemson and South Carolina are in the thick of it as well, with programs like Michigan, Oregon and USC also catching his eye.

Griffin plans on taking official visits before deciding.

Georgia has six early commitments and top-ranked tight end Elyiss Williams is slated to be back, so will the No. 3 defensive lineman in the land Justus Terry, as is the country’s No. 3 linebacker Jadon Perlotte, the No. 9 tight end Ethan Barbour and the No.

took an official visit to Michigan the weekend before the early signing period. A top-100 recruit at Baltimore St. Frances, Moore was considering waiting until February to sign.

Jalen Carter during the College Football Playoffs on Dec. 31, 2022.

He was an Oklahoma commit who reopened his recruitment following Lincoln Riley‘s departure for USC. Now he was up against the clock, taking late visits to Michigan and Ole Miss, and thinking he may need more time for his decision. On his official to Michigan, Moore felt a brotherhood. He felt comfortable with what the Wolverines were doing, thanks in part to having played at St. Frances under Biff Poggi who spent time on staff with Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. He also saw what Michigan’s defense was doing and had just watched Aidan Hutchinson finish as runner-up for the Heisman Trophy.

So he not only committed, he signed early and enrolled early.
