Nottingham Forest man faces Premier League club’s harsh transfer message

The Scotland international will be hoping that his transfer situation does not jeopardize his hopes of making Clarke’s Euro team.

Scott McKenna has reportedly been BANISHED from Nottingham Forest training as part of the Premier League club’s harsh transfer message.

And he is not alone; another Forest defender and former Rangers player Joe Worrall, who has made over 200 appearances for the club since signing in 2016, has also been forced to train away from the first team. McKenna will want to stay in Steve Clarke’s good graces as he vies for a spot on the plane for Germany and Euro 2024 next summer. However, the Mail Online reports that the pair have been told to practice on different pitches and to report to daily training at a different time than the rest of the squad.

Steve Cooper and the Forest administration, which includes former Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson, have reportedly advised the pair of central defenders that they can leave in the forthcoming January window. According to the article, Forest has not confirmed whether the exclusion is the result of any behavioral issues or disagreements.

McKenna and Worrall both played key roles in Forest’s promotion to the Premier League two seasons ago, with the former’s former side Aberdeen no doubt keeping an eye out for a potential sell-on clause if the 27-year-old moves in the next window. The decision comes despite the fact that the combination has only made eleven league appearances together.
