We are now at the winter break, so it’s time to take a step back and assess the season so far with a little mid-season review.
You have to take the season in two sections. You have the Michael Beale section which I would say – giving a mark out of 10 – would be a zero. And then you have the Philippe Clement section where we have topped a Europa League group, and won the Viaplay Cup for the first time since 2011.
He has dropped five points, but has got the team playing well and could close the gap at the top to two point if we win our games in hand. After what he inherited, I’d give the start of the Clement era a solid 7.5/10.
No one else comes close, even in the last match against Kilmarnock, he pulled off a big save at 0-0. He’s the signing of the season for Rangers already.

The manager has Rangers on the right track and having him rather than Michael Beale leaves fans positive about what lies ahead.
There are so many variables to this. If Rangers can win the two games in hand they will give themselves a chance of being in a title race. However, what I will say is that we have a far better chance as we sit now, than we did after the Aberdeen defeat at Ibrox.
Depending on what we do in the window, the options in the final third, or lack of, may be our undoing.
