NFL insider predicts who could be the next Saints head coach

The New Orleans Saints are currently looking for a new head coach after parting ways with Dennis Allen midseason following a seven-game losing streak. With their coaching search now underway, several candidates have emerged as potential successors.

One name that is being closely watched is Aaron Glenn, the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator. Glenn has a strong connection to the Saints, having played for the team in 2008 and then working as their defensive backs coach from 2016 to 2020. His success in Detroit, where he has helped lead one of the league’s top defenses, makes him a strong candidate. His familiarity with the Saints organization and respect from the locker room add to his appeal.

Additionally, some NFL insiders suggest that Matt Nagy, the current offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, could be in the mix. Nagy, who previously served as head coach for the Chicago Bears, has rehabilitated his coaching reputation in Kansas City after an unremarkable tenure in Chicago. Despite some setbacks with the Bears, his experience with quarterback development could make him an interesting option for the Saints.

As the Saints move forward with interim head coach Darren Rizzi, the final decision on the next head coach will likely depend on factors such as cap space, roster flexibility, and the direction the franchise wants to take for the future.
