Tennessee picks up commitment from three-star cornerback Colin Brazzell

Tennessee added to the class of 2024 on Friday, picking up a commitment from three-star cornerback Colin Brazzell. The Volunteers came on late here, obviously hopping in the race after landing his brother Chris out of the transfer portal from Tulane.

The Volunteers added older brother Chris on offense last month, now they add little brother Colin to the defense.

Brazzell comes out of Texas, playing for Midland Legacy High School. The 6-2, 170 pound defensive back fits Tennessee’s type, providing the Volunteers with another lengthy cornerback prospect to develop. Brazzell ranks just outside of the top 1,500 prospects nationally, per On3. He’s the 141st ranked player in the state of Texas.

Colorado, Purdue and Tulane were the other schools in the mix for Brazzell. Clearly his recruitment turned once older brother Chris ended up in Knoxville.

Brazzell joins Tennessee’s 12th ranked 2024 class, per On3. The Volunteers also have four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, four-star athlete Boo Carter, three-star safety Marcus Goree and three-star safety Edrees Farooq in their class of 2024.

Tennessee saw a mass exodus in the secondary following the season, with six veterans hitting the portal to find new homes. The Volunteers will see a youth movement in the defensive backfield, and now have another lengthy body to develop over the next few years.
