Final Injury Report for Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs.
The Dallas Mavericks kick off their regular season on Thursday night at home against their in-state rivals, the San Antonio Spurs. After dealing with a few key injuries during the preseason, the Mavericks are nearly at full strength heading into the season, according to their injury report.
Dallas will be without Dante Exum, who had wrist surgery during training camp and is expected to miss around three months. Additionally, Kessler Edwards and Brandon Williams won’t be available, as both have been assigned to the G-League.
The good news for Dallas is that neither Luka Doncic nor Maxi Kleber appear on the injury report after missing the entire preseason. Doncic had suffered a calf contusion right before training camp, which kept him out of preseason action as a precaution. Kleber was sidelined due to a sprained ankle but is now cleared to play.
This game will mark the first time fans will get to see Luka Doncic back in action alongside Klay Thompson as the Mavericks aim to defend their Western Conference title. Doncic’s return will be highly anticipated, as his presence is crucial to the team’s success, especially against a young and energetic Spurs squad.
On the other side, the Spurs will be without Devin Vassell, who is recovering from surgery to address a stress fracture. Vassell, who averaged a career-high 19.5 points per game last season, will be missed in San Antonio’s starting lineup as he was a key contributor to their offense.
With both teams looking to start their season strong, the matchup between the Mavericks and Spurs promises to be an exciting showdown. Fans will be eager to see how Dallas performs with its key players back on the court and how the Spurs manage without one of their top scorers.
