After sharing the joyous news of being cancer-free late last year, Kate Middleton has gradually resumed her Royal duties, which included a heartfelt visit to Royal Marsden London to meet patients currently fighting their own battles with cancer. Today (January 14), she and Prince William became Joint Patrons of the specialist cancer care centre at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where Kate received treatment following her own cancer diagnosis.
For this significant occasion, Kate chose a chic burgundy midi skirt and matching high neck jumper, a colour choice with a special hidden meaning. While burgundy is a hot trend in recent seasons, it’s also said to symbolise good fortune, warmth, comfort, and strength – making it an apt choice for Kate’s sensitive hospital visit.
This marked Kate’s first solo Royal outing since her cancer diagnosis, adding extra significance to the event. Kate is known for wearing various shades of red for other notable occasions, such as introducing Prince Louis, honouring Princess Diana, and launching her Shaping Us campaign.
In true Kate fashion, the Princess of Wales’ outfit was a re-wear, after she was seen in the same ensemble during a visit to Cornwall in 2023. The outfit consists of an Edeline Lee Plait Skirt, which is still available for purchase at £595, and a Women’s Cashmere Polo Neck Jumper from Kiltane in the Bordeaux shade, now on sale for £60 from its original price of £129. However, there are only a few sizes left in this particular burgundy shade.
