‘I ate like Victoria Beckham for 24 hours- people have dubbed her diet as depressing and boring’

Fashionista and pop star Victoria Beckham works hard to perfect her sculpted physique – from working out to sticking to a strict diet which some say is ‘depressing’ and lacking in flavour

Fashion icon Victoria Beckham – also known as ‘Posh Spice’ – has worked hard to get her sculpted physique. She dedicates several hours a week to working out and sticks to a meticulously planned diet.

But how easy is it to replicate her regime? Recently, one individual tried her diet for 24 hours to see how realistic it actually is.

Victoria’s husband David Beckham previously revealed on River Cafe Table 4 podcast that Victoria has eaten the same meal for 25 years. The former England footballer said: “Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.”

The mum-of-four previously told Net-A-Porter: “I eat lots of fresh fish, fresh vegetables and salads, as well as seeds and nuts. I also love fruit but don’t eat too much, as it can make me feel quite bloated. I am disciplined with my eating – that’s how I find I get the most out of my body.”

Victoria loves avocados and salmon – and as a treat, she enjoys a few glasses of red wine. So Cecilia Fondacci, who loves to cook and travel, took notes before starting the diet herself.

On her Instagram page, Cecilia said: “Eating like a celebrity challenge day 39/60: Victoria Beckham.” She put a disclaimer on the video and noted: “I do not claim to know what anybody eats and only base my videos on what I find on the internet and what works for my body.”

She started the day by squeezing a fresh lemon into a glass before adding hot water, and dropping the lemon slice in. For breakfast, she toasted granary brown bread and chopped up avocado slices to add on top. She garnished the treat with salt, lemon, and coriander.

For lunch, she chopped a courgette, carrot, and three leaks and popped them in a steamer. Meanwhile, she got a salmon fillet and garnished it with dill and two lemon wedges, before popping it in an air fryer. She served the steamed vegetables, salmon and half an avocado on a plate.

To prepare a Victoria Beckham dinner, Cecilia started by chopping up broccoli into small pieces and adding the veg into the steamer, along with more leeks and courgette. She then boiled a white fish. The Instagrammer then served everything up along with another half avocado.

People rushed to comment – with many noting that they wouldn’t want to eat the same meals as Victoria. One individual dubbed the meals “depressing”, while another said “everything tastes like water”.

“I’d be starving,” said another. “I’d rather be fat,” a third said. However, one said they would be happy with the meals if one thing was changed.

They said: “Add more seasonings and I’m with it! Especially if the fish is prepared perfectly by a private chef.” Another agreed, and said: “Spices and fresh herds have minimal calories and would make it more appealing.”

We don’t recommend following a celebrity or fad diet if you’re looking to lose weight or get fit. Instead, you should speak to a doctor or visit World Health Organization if you need advice.
