Prince Louis has delighted fans after a throwback clip showed the young royal gleefully responding to a letter from Santa – and his one-word reaction has warmed hearts
Prince Louis has warmed the hearts of royal fans in a throwback clip showing his adorable reaction to a letter from Santa.
Those who watched the video – which has been reposted to TikTok a year after it was first filmed – now believe they have ‘worked out’ what Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s youngest child said as the note was read to him during last year’s royal carol service.
As actor Jim Broadbent presented the letter and began to read, Louis – now six – raised his head and his eyes lit up. He could be seen saying one word, which viewers now believe was “mama.”
Commenting on the clip, one person said: “Did he say, ‘Momma?'”. Meanwhile another agreed: “[The] little ‘mamma’ so sweet.”
Meanwhile a third chimed in: “He’s so cute, all excited about Santa,” and a fourth agreed: “I love him so much! My son is only 2 but he has the same kind of energy- it’s so pure, so joyful, we LOVE IT!!!”
This year’s carol service took place at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6, after a tumultuous year for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their family. It marked the fourth time Princess Kate has organised the event, and comes months after she began her gradual return to royal duties after she completed a course of chemotherapy.
Kate’s three children and William all joined her for the concert, as well as celebrity performers including Richard E Grant, Paloma Faith and Gregory Porter, with Sir Chris Hoy giving a reading for the 1,600 guests.
In an emotional confession at this year’s event, Kate, 42, said that at last year’s carol service she “didn’t know” what 2024 had in store for her. An hour before the service began, Kate – who announced her cancer diagnosis back in March – greeted performers in the Chapter House of the abbey before speaking to other guests.
When singer Paloma Faith expressed sympathy for the princess, Kate replied: “I didn’t know this time last year it was going to be the year I’ve just had.”
Kate also told the Upside Down hitmaker she had enlisted Louis to keep a secret about a surprise for her daughter, Princess Charlotte. Among the performers at the service were soloists from the Royal Ballet, something Charlotte, nine, would have been particularly thrilled to see given her love of ballet.
