It’s once again game week for the Tennessee Volunteers football team and people can’t wait to see them in action against Ohio State. Come Saturday night, the Vols will take on OSU in Columbus in a packed stadium at The Shoe.
For the first time in program history, the Vols are in the College Football Playoff and the players are of course happy to be among the 12 finalists. However, don’t think for a second that UT is just satisfied with this CFP appearance.
Nope, star running back Dylan Sampson made it more than clear that Tennessee has bigger things in mind. That’s right, it’s title or bust for the Vols, who will look to get things going with a bang this weekend against the Buckeyes. Should they win, a date with No. 1 Oregon will be on the way – something Sampson hopes will be the case.
RB Dylan Sampson said Tennessee isn’t satisfied with just making the CFP
Seeing that quote from Sampson further proves why he’s a great leader for this team. Yes, getting all the attention of making the CFP is one thing, but it’s not going to mean a darn thing if the Vols take on Ohio State and don’t perform on both sides of the ball.
The last time we saw the Buckeyes in action, they suffered a terrible loss at home to Michigan. Because of that defeat, plenty of Tennessee fans were calling for the Vols to jump them in the rankings/seedings. That didn’t happen, though.
Despite the Vols being robbed of one last home game at Neyland Stadium for 2024, this team is focused on making noise in the CFP and things will get started on Saturday night in Ohio. The pieces are in place for the Vols to post an upset and silence all of their haters. Sampson will do everything possible to make sure Tennessee makes that happen.
