Emma Raducanu withdraws from another tournament as new return…….

Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from another tournament, sparking concerns about her return to professional tennis. The British tennis star pulled out of the Kooyong Classic exhibition match against Russia’s Mirra Andreeva, just four days before the Australian Open ¹. This comes after she also cancelled her charity match against Naomi Osaka.

Raducanu’s management team stressed that the withdrawal was taken as a precautionary measure, citing soreness from her lengthy time away from the tour ¹. The 21-year-old underwent surgery on both wrists and her left ankle in May 2023 and has been working on her recovery since then.

Despite this setback, Raducanu is expected to participate in the Australian Open, where she will bypass qualifying due to enough players pulling out ¹. Her protected ranking of 103 may also secure her spot in the main draw.
