Leicester City have contacted Dutch giants Ajax regarding a potential deal to sign attacker Steven Bergwijn.
Foxes manager Steve Cooper believes that enhancing their attacking options is essential for success in the Premier League next season.
Cooper has identified Bergwijn as a solution, focusing on the Dutch forward as a target.
Recently, Leicester have reached out to Ajax to inquire about Bergwijn’s availability and potential cost.
Bergwijn, who has Premier League experience from his time at Tottenham Hotspur, is expected to adapt quickly if signed by Leicester.
Last season, he scored 12 goals in 24 Eredivisie games for Ajax and 13 overall, despite the team’s disappointing performance, which saw them finish fifth and miss out on Champions League football.
Bergwijn might be transferred from Ajax before the transfer window closes, as other clubs are also interested in him. If a move to Leicester doesn’t materialize, he could still leave Ajax.
