TERMS OF AGREEMENT REACHED! New Orleans Saints Announce Their Latest Signing head Of The Start Of A New Season

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis has announced several roster moves. The team has signed tight ends Kevin Rader and Mason Fairchild, while waiving tight end Jesper Horsted and wide receiver Jermaine Jackson, who was waived/injured. Additionally, tight end Tommy Hudson has been placed on Injured Reserve.

Kevin Rader, standing 6-4 and weighing 250 pounds, comes to the Saints after spending four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans. Over his career, Rader has participated in 35 games, including four starts, and has accumulated three receptions for 14 yards along with 19 special teams tackles. Rader began his college career at Youngstown State as a defensive lineman but transitioned to tight end in his redshirt sophomore year. At Youngstown State, he played 47 games with 26 starts, catching 41 passes for 601 yards and four touchdowns.

Mason Fairchild, also 6-4 but weighing 260 pounds, joins the Saints as a rookie free agent following a five-year career at Kansas. During his time with the Jayhawks, Fairchild appeared in 56 games with 18 starts. He recorded 82 receptions for 1,111 yards and ten touchdowns. His standout season came as a junior when he caught 35 passes for 443 yards and six touchdowns. As a senior in 2023, Fairchild added 27 catches for 451 yards and three touchdowns and was recognized as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy for his community service.

These additions and changes reflect the Saints’ ongoing efforts to refine their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
