DEAL DONE, TERMS AGREED! Saints Make Four Shocking Moves And Were Lucky To Secure One; Asotin-Born And Former Vikings Veteran

On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints announced the signing of veteran offensive lineman Jesse Davis, as reported by Field Yates. The team also placed offensive tackle Justin Herron on injured reserve. Additionally, according to Aaron Wilson, the Saints are waiving offensive lineman Mark Evans and adding guard Tremayne Anchrum to their roster.

Jesse Davis, aged 32, first entered the NFL in 2015 when he signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent after graduating from Idaho. Davis was released during the Seahawks’ roster cuts and subsequently signed a future/reserve contract with the New York Jets.

The following year, the Miami Dolphins added Davis to their practice squad, and he remained with the team for the duration of a three-year, $15 million contract, which included $8.5 million guaranteed. After completing his contract with the Dolphins, Davis was released and later joined the Minnesota Vikings. He competed for a starting guard position but lost the role and was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers before the roster cut deadline. Davis spent the 2023 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

In the 2022 season, Davis appeared in 14 games for the Steelers, though he did not secure a starting position.
