**Injury Update: Trajan Jeffcoat Joins List of Saints’ Camp Injuries**

The New Orleans Saints encountered their second major injury in as many days during training camp on Thursday. According to John Hendrix of the Saints News Network, rookie defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat was carted off the field after suffering a significant injury. Jeffcoat, who was in considerable pain, was down for several minutes before being transported off the practice field.

Saints head coach Dennis Allen later confirmed that Jeffcoat had dislocated his elbow. Fortunately, Hendrix reported that the injury did not involve any ligament damage and that surgery is not anticipated. However, it is expected that Jeffcoat will be sidelined for a substantial period.

This injury follows another setback from the previous day when second-year running back Kendre Miller sustained a hamstring injury. As of Thursday’s media session, there was no additional information regarding Miller’s condition. Hendrix also noted that guard Shane Lemieux left Thursday’s practice early due to what appeared to be an ankle injury.

Trajan Jeffcoat, 24, is an undrafted rookie aiming to secure a spot on the Saints’ roster as a defensive end. He began his college career at Missouri, where he made a significant impact with 11.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss over four seasons, earning First Team All-SEC honors in 2020. Jeffcoat concluded his collegiate career at Arkansas, adding four sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss to his resume.

Jeffcoat’s return to the field will be crucial as he competes for a position on the defensive line, which includes notable players such as Cam Jordan, Carl Granderson, Chase Young, Isaiah Foskey, and Payton Turner. Additionally, veteran defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list due to an Achilles injury.
