The Minnesota Vikings and offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw have reached a significant agreement on a contract extension, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday. The extension spans four years and is valued at up to $113 million in new money, with a substantial $77 million guaranteed, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.
Darrisaw’s new contract includes an immediate $43.7 million guaranteed at the time of signing, highlighting the team’s commitment to securing his services long-term.
Originally drafted by the Vikings with the 23rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Darrisaw had two years remaining on his rookie contract before this extension was finalized. His rapid ascension and impact on the Vikings’ offensive line evidently prompted the organization to prioritize locking him in for the foreseeable future.
