Kirkwood spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers, appearing in a total of four games and securing four receptions for 30 yards. Returning to the New Orleans Saints in 2022, he primarily contributed on special teams over the past two seasons. During an 18-game span spanning 2022 to 2023, Kirkwood amassed seven catches for 55 yards and scored one touchdown.
Recently, Kirkwood signed with the Baltimore Ravens, a team boasting reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, but ranked 21st in passing production last season.
In Baltimore, Kirkwood will vie for a roster spot among a receiving corps that features Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, Devontez Walker, Tylan Wallace, and former Saint Deonte Harty.
Heading into the offseason, the Saints had not planned to re-sign Kirkwood. Instead, they bolstered their receiving options through free agency with Cedrick Wilson, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Stanley Morgan Jr. Additionally, they selected Pitt Panthers wide receiver Bub Means in the fifth round of the draft.
Meanwhile, former Saints wide receivers Michael Thomas and Lynn Bowden Jr. are still available in the free-agent market.
