Jimmy Butler Reportedly Shutting Down Trades to Leave Heat

Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler is expected to stay in South Beach. Despite months of speculation and no agreement on a max extension, Butler is reportedly not seeking a trade this offseason.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned on the Pat McAfee show that he expects Butler to remain with the Heat next season. Windhorst stated, “From what I understand, Jimmy Butler plans to be back with the Miami Heat next year even if there’s no extension.”

Teams have inquired about Butler’s availability, but he has expressed his contentment in Miami.

Butler has a player option for the 2025-2026 season and could be in a similar situation to superstars James Harden and Paul George. If he stays healthy and leads Miami to another deep playoff run, it will be difficult for Pat Riley and the Heat to deny him the payday he seeks.
