Sean Murphy has pair of 2-run homers and Braves earn 3-game sweep of Tigers with 7-0 victory

Reynaldo López pitched five scoreless innings, Sean Murphy hit two two-run home runs, and the Atlanta Braves defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-0 on Wednesday to finish a three-game series.

López (5-2) reduced his 1.57 ERA, which leads the MLB. He walked one, gave up seven hits, and struck out six. López has made six home starts this year and has only allowed four runs in 40 2/3 innings.

The Braves have won six of their last seven games after going 5-1 on a six-game homestand. Throughout the series, they gave up just two runs altogether.

Prior to the game, Murphy, who was selected to the National League All-Star squad the previous season, was only hitting.135 in his 15 games this season. With four RBI, the catcher went 4-for-4.
