Philadelphia Phillies Finally released top veteran pitcher due to financial crisis

Beau Burrows, the right-handed pitcher who was chosen by the Detroit Tigers in the first round of the 2015 draft, recently faced a setback in his baseball career as he was released by the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite showing promise with his performance for Double-A Reading, his struggle with control became evident after being promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in May. During his time at Lehigh Valley, Burrows walked 18 batters in just 13 1/3 innings, resulting in an unsatisfactory 8.10 ERA, ultimately leading to his release from the team.

Now 27 years old, Burrows was initiall∞y drafted by the Tigers straight out of Weatherford High School in Texas. He made his debut in Major League Baseball in 2020, where he recorded a 5.40 ERA across 6 2/3 innings of play. However, his stint in the majors was short-lived, as he only made one appearance in 2021 before being demoted to the Toledo Mud Hens and later designated for assignment.

Following his departure from the Tigers, Burrows briefly joined the Minnesota Twins after being inclaimed off waivers. He then spent the 2022 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, followed by a stint with the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A team last year. Despite the ups and downs in his career, Burrows continues to pursue his passion for baseball, facing challenges head-on as he navigates through different teams and leagues in the sport.
