The Los Angeles Rams have made significant moves to bolster their roster for the upcoming 2024 season, aiming for a return to the playoffs. Following a disappointing 5-12 campaign, the Rams managed to secure a playoff spot last year but fell short in a narrow defeat to former franchise quarterback Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions.
Despite the retirement of superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald earlier in the offseason, the Rams maintain a formidable lineup under the guidance of coach Sean McVay. Led by quarterback Matthew Stafford and supported by receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, along with running backs Kyren Williams and rookie Blake Corum, the Rams possess a potent offensive core, instilling optimism for another playoff push in Los Angeles.
However, the Rams’ roster isn’t without its vulnerabilities. A few key injuries in critical positions could derail their season, emphasizing the need to fortify their depth before training camp commences.
One area of concern is the lack of depth at wide receiver beyond starters Kupp and Nacua. While Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell provide backup options, both players have been inconsistent. The potential loss of either Kupp or Nacua to injury could significantly impact the Rams’ offensive potency. Acquiring a player like Dyami Brown would enhance their receiving corps and mitigate the risk of injuries.
Brown, currently with the Washington Commanders, presents an opportunity for the Rams to strengthen their receiving options. As Brown enters the final year of his rookie deal and with Washington in a rebuilding phase, a trade for him could provide value for both parties.
Moreover, addressing the need for offensive line depth, particularly at left tackle, is imperative for the Rams. Larry Borom of the Chicago Bears emerges as a viable option. With the Bears having alternatives at the tackle position, Borom could be available at a reasonable cost, offering versatility and experience as a backup tackle.
Additionally, the Rams could benefit from bolstering their cornerback position. James Bradberry of the Philadelphia Eagles, with a manageable contract and surplus of cornerbacks in Philadelphia, presents an enticing trade option. His addition could provide the Rams with another starting-caliber cornerback alongside Tre’Davious White.
