CJ Stroud Sends A Surprising And Emphatic Nine-Word Message To Matthew Stafford

Along with Houston Texans teammate Tank Dell, CJ Stroud appeared on the Million Dollars Worth Of Game podcast. When the two players and the podcast’s hosts, Wallo267, a social media influencer and self-described disruptor, and rapper Gillie Da King, were talking about the top quarterbacks in the game, Stroud mentioned Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams.

CJ Stroud On Matthew Stafford

1’m a student of the gamNe. Stafford a dog…” Stroud explains “..That’s all I watch I don’t watch nobody else…” “…Stafford’s a dog. He will beat you with the same thing every time. All that no look stuff? I got that from [Stafford]. I’m a fan of his. I be trying to find bro. We got the same trainers. I’ll be trying to like go to where they working on and just watch.”

Initially, Stroud put Stafford in the same tier as Tom Brady. But quickly walked back the statement, “That’s crazy, let me go back.” Dell also chimed in on the topic, “Stafford’s fire, He fire.”

Stroud then acknowledged that Stafford had been in a less-than-ideal situation while playing with the Detroit Lions, but had he been on a better team, the results would speak for themselves.

“If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rogers, I guarantee you he would had more rings, for sure.”

Stroud thinks Stafford would have won three or four Super Bowls had he been on a team as good as the Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers.

Stafford level of play is a hotly contested topic and Mr. Da King was not on board with Stroud’s point, using championship rings as the benchmark for who he sees as the best quarterbacks. But Stroud seemed to be using a different standard. One that takes Staffords unique skill set into consideration. Stroud obviously sees Stafford as a quarterback that he can learn from and the admiration is evident from his defense of him.

The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year may have more credibility in this instance.
