Andrew Beard walked away with an offer from Alabama after camping in front of Crimson Tide coaches on Thursday.
Beard currently attends Prince Avenue Christian School in Georgia. He holds 12 college football offers, including previous offers from Georgia, Oklahoma and Tennese
Kalen DeBoer met with Beard at the end of camp in his office and informed the freshman of his offer from the Tide.
“I was just in total disbelief,” Beard told Touchdown Alabama. “I came to the camp just to showcase my talent and walking out of Alabama with an offer was just totally shocking to me.”
Beard impressed Alabama with his performance at camp, and Alabama was able to impress Beard with its hospitality, history and facilities.
“I loved it,” Beard said. “I spent most the time in the indoor practice facility, which is state of the art with a full sized field and extra space on the back. Along with the facilities being amazing, the people were too. I like how the coaches are always pushing the players to produce the best. Having a historic history like Alabama just adds to the greatness.”
At 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, Beard lined up for Lincoln County and made a name for himself while contributing at multiple positions. He spent time at wide receiver, running back and defensive back during his freshman season.
