Jordan’s commitment to head coach Sonny Dykes and the Horned Frogs comes just a couple of days after his visit to Fort Worth last weekend wrapped up. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound defensive back from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex played his first two seasons at Texas. Jordan contributed on offense and special teams for the Longhorns in the last two seasons.

He registered over 100 defensive snaps and 365 special teams snaps since 2022. Jordan posted 11 combined tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and two defensive stops.

Jordan was a four-star recruit from Denton (TX) Ryan High School in north DFW. He signed with a Longhorns 2022 class that ranked fifth nationally in the 247Sports Composite. Jordan ranked as the No. 256 prospect nationally in the 2022 class in the 247Sports Composite, No. 21 safety, and No. 41 from Texas.

The No. 49 transfer safety in the On3 Industry Ranking joins junior cornerback Terrance Brooks as the two Longhorns defensive backs who entered the portal since the conclusion of spring ball. Brooks still has yet to announce his transfer destination this spring.

Since Jordan and Brooks transferred out from Texas a couple of weeks ago, the Longhorns have picked up a portal commitment from former San Jose State Spartans sophomore cornerback Jay’Vion Cole. The latest portal movement has left head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns with three remaining scholarship spots before they hit the limit of 85.
