LSU advances to SEC semifinals with comeback win against South Carolina

The 11th seeded LSU Tigers took down the 10th seeded South Carolina Gamecocks to advance to the SEC Tournament semi-finals. Let’s recap LSU’s 3-0 start and the exciting win against South Carolina.

 

The 11th seeded LSU Tigers are 3-0 to begin the SEC Baseball Tournament. All three wins have been against teams seeded higher than the Tigers. These wins have been against the 6th seeded Georgia Bulldogs, 3rd seeded Kentucky Wildcats, and the 10th seeded South Carolina Gamecocks.

 

What have been the Keys to LSU Baseball’s Recent Success?

Steven Milam has been having a very impressive tournament. Through three games, Milam has a .500 batting average with one home run and four runs batted in. He had two clutch runs batted in against South Carolina.

 

Gage Jump had a great start against a tough Georgia offense. Against Georgia, Jump threw seven innings and allowed four hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out seven. This got him his sixth win on the season.

 

Luke Holman followed Jumps great start with a dominant start against Kentucky. In that game, Holman tossed six no-hit innings and struck out seven batters. This earned him his ninth win on the season.

 

These three players have led LSU to the game against South Carolina. This game against the Gamecocks ended up with 21 total runs and a late ninth inning comeback.
