Kendrick Perkins makes bold prediction on Boston Celtics’ upcoming super clash vs Indiana Pacers

The cast of this year’s Eastern Conference Finals have been set, and many believe the Boston Celtics would have the overwhelming advantage over their opponents and make another NBA Finals.

It must be said that the Indiana Pacers aren’t pushovers of a basketball team, and they will likely pose a challenge to the C’s at certain points of the game. However, it’s clear to everyone that the Celtics have always been the team to beat in the East and will dictate the momentum for much of the series.

With many expecting the Celtics to win a championship , the pressure is on Jayson Tatum and the rest of the team to make these predictions reality and beat the Pacers in convincing fashion.

However, one former Celtic thinks that the series would go on an entirely different direction.

Kendrick Perkins thinks the Boston Celtics-Indiana Pacers series would reach seven games

Kendrick Perkins was a part of the last Boston Celtics team to win a championship. He’s also spent his post-playing days as an analyst who isn’t averse to making controversial claims.

His latest statement about his predictions on the Celtics-Pacers series is one that will raise a lot of eyebrows, as reported by NESN’s Adam London:

“I have this series going seven games, OK?” Perkins said Monday on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.” “I give the nod to the Celtics, but this Indiana Pacers team has shown me something these first two rounds. They’re not going anywhere. Whether the world believes in them or not, they believe in themselves.

“That’s the most important thing, and they’re showing it. They’re showing it and they’re not backing down from anyone. You want to play physical? We can do that. We’re gonna put up points because we arguably have the best pure point guard in the league, Tyrese Haliburton, who wants to get everyone involved.”

It’s definitely a daring claim for Perkins to make, but the Pacers have been anything but predictable in this year’s playoffs.

While it’s true that they enjoyed a bit of luck in their playoff run, Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner, and the rest of Indiana’s roster have been nothing short of phenomenal this season. The trio can put up a good fight against the Celtics if they aren’t careful enough.

It’s not bad for Celtics fans to place attention on the NBA championship, but they must remember that their team needs to focus on their opponents first. If they aren’t careful, they might find themselves booking early tickets to Cancun.
