In a revealing chat with Overtime Heroics, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cole Christiansen, fresh off a Super Bowl win, opened up about his personal preferences off the field, including his travel aspirations and all-time favorite meal.
When asked about the top destinations on his travel wishlist, Christiansen didn’t hesitate, “Italy & Norway.” It seems the thrill of exploring new cultures is not just limited to the gridiron for Christiansen.
His choice of a top meal was just as quick and clear. “Grouper sandwich,” he stated, pointing to a taste for the simpler, yet flavorful options when it comes to dining.
The backdrop to Christiansen’s current peace comes amid some busy times for the Chiefs. The team’s roster is undergoing adjustments as they gear up for another hopeful season. General manager Brett Veach has been tweaking the lineup, ensuring the team remains competitive.
Christiansen, 26, who re-signed with the Chiefs after a brief period of uncertainty, has been proving his mettle mostly on special teams. Last season, he participated in five regular-season games and contributed significantly during the Chiefs’ playoff journey to their Super Bowl triumph.
Despite the team having a solid group of linebackers, Christiansen is expected to compete vigorously for his spot during the upcoming summer camps. With the Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how he fits into the Chiefs’ plans moving forward.
As the summer progresses, all eyes will be on Christiansen and his colleagues as they prepare to defend their title and possibly add new chapters to their already impressive careers. Meanwhile, Christiansen’s dreams of Italy and Norway, along with his love for a good grouper sandwich, remind us that there’s more to these athletes than just the game.
