Josh Pate Names The SEC’s Most Important Player Entering 2024 College Football Season
The offseason buzz continues to grow for Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, who has gone from being a preseason Heisman favorite to being in the race for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and was also named a cover athlete for the College Football 25 Deluxe Edition video game.
There aren’t many experts who aren’t high on Beck’s potential entering the 2024 college football season. He finished last season with 3,941 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, and six interceptions. He led the Bulldogs to the SEC Championship game and a dominant Orange Bowl win over Florida State.
He is also the leader of a great supporting cast which would help Beck reach major individual achievements and help Georgia get back on top of the college football world.
247Sports’ Josh Pate believes Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is the most important player in the SEC.
“If Carson Beck does nothing more if I know nothing more than that dude is just going to play to his full potential, and he’s going to justify everyone who has mocked him in the first round of the NFL Draft next year, Georgia’s good enough everywhere else,” Josh Pate said on the Late Kick Podcast.
He might be right. Georgia doesn’t have many weaknesses. If Beck lives up to the preseason hype, not only will they win a national championship, but the Bulldogs signal caller may win the most prestigious award in college football.
