Breaking news: Dundee United’s top scorer triggers contract extension
Dundee United’s top scorer Louis Moult has agreed a deal for their Premiership return.
The experienced striker has triggered an extension that will keep him at Tannadice for the 2024-25 season. Moult has now agreed terms of that deal and will lead their charge back into their top flight. The Englishman was central to United’s Championship win with 20 goal’s last season.
He also has a proven goalscoring record in the Premiership in his two spells at Motherwell. Moult had other interest but United showed loyalty in giving Moult a chance last summer and he was keen to repay that to the club and manager Jim Goodwin. The 31-year-old revealed that he had to pay for his own ankle surgery to get back fully-fit and firing as he pondered hanging up his boots.United have already moved to sign up double player of the year Craig Sibbald on a new deal. The midfielder penned a two year extension at Tannadice earlier this week. United are also close to agreeing another deal with youngster Miller Thomson. Talks are on-going with Ross Graham, Kevin Holt and Lewis O’Donnell. Matthew Cudjoe has also been offered a deal.
