Injury report: Early Premier League injury report for Crystal Palace indicates 8 out and 6 doubts.
Aston Villa travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in their final game of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Villa played to an entertaining six-goal thriller against Liverpool on Monday in their final home match of the campaign. An Emi Martinez own goal was quickly cancelled out by a Youri Tielemans equaliser and then super sub Jhon Duran rescued a point after Cody Gakpo and Jarrell Quansah had given the Reds the lead.
Palace are hoping to get revenge on Villa after suffering a 3-1 defeat back in September. Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring for Palace but an 87th-minute equaliser from Duran before goals from Douglas Luiz and Leon Bailey in the eighth and 11th minute of stoppage time gave Unai Emery’s side the victory.
Boubacar Kamara, Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings and Jacob Ramsey are all confirmed absentees. Kamara, Mings and Buendia all have knee injuries that came at different points of the campaign. Kamara suffered his in February against Manchester United whilst Mings and Buendia have missed the whole of the campaign after picking up theirs in August.
Buendia and Mings are unlikely to play against Palace, whilst Kamara is out until October. Jacob Ramsey is out with a toe injury that he has been contending with over the course of the season.
Youri Tielemans came back in to the side on Monday and made an impact by scoring in the draw with Liverpool. Goalkeeper Emi Martinez played his first league game since coming off against Chelsea. Alex Moreno, Morgan Rogers, Nicolo Zaniolo and Matty Cash are all doubtful. Unfortunately Matty Cash in the build-up to the game suffered a calf strain whilst Nicolo Zaniolo only lasted 14 minutes before having to be replaced by Jhon Duran.
When asked for an update on Rogers, who hasn’t played since picking up a hamstring injury against Brighton, Emery said: “Today was impossible for him to be available. Maybe for Sunday with some days to come he can try to be available, but I don’t know exactly.”
Out: Boubacar Kamara, Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings and Jacob Ramsey. Doubtful: Alex Moreno, Morgan Rogers, Nicolo Zaniolo and Matty Cash.
