Sean McDermott added to NFL Competition Committee

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has been appointed to the NFL Competition Committee, as announced by the NFL on Thursday.

The Committee, responsible for reviewing various competitive aspects of the game, such as playing rules, roster regulations, technology, game-day operations, and player protection, has added McDermott and Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay.

Expressing his gratitude, McDermott stated, “First and foremost, it’s a great honor to be thought of in this light. It comes with great responsibility to continue to grow this game that so many others have done for so many years.”

The Competition Committee utilizes feedback from surveys distributed to all 32 NFL clubs, preparing agenda items, discussing feedback, and consulting with league medical advisors, coaches, general managers’ subcommittees, and NFL Players Association representatives, as outlined on the NFL Operations website.

During the league’s annual meeting, the Committee presents its findings to the 32 owners, who then vote on any proposed new rules and rule changes. McDermott and McVay join the committee to contribute to these crucial discussions.
