Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud surprises Marine Corps veteran

HOUSTON, Texas (KWTX) – Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is surprising a Marine Corp veteran and his son with a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Stroud teamed up with USAA and the Air and Space Forces Association (AFA) to send retired United States Marine Craig Mazeska and his son to Super Bowl LVIII.

“Coming from a military family has helped shape me into the man I am today,” Stroud said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to CBS affiliate KHOU in Houston, Mazeska served in the Marine Corps from 1988-1994.

Mazeska was awarded the Purple Heart, a Combat Action Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal and a Unit Citation for the time he served, according to KHOU.

Stroud is coming off an impressive rookie season that has him in the running for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award
