The Milwaukee Brewers made a surprising move this week by signing Rhys Hoskins, a powerful hitter, to a two-year contract worth $34 million. This is different from the usual approach of not spending much on free agents. However, the Brewers continued to make headlines on Thursday morning by signing another player. Fans are eagerly anticipating the impact these new signings will have on the team.
Milwaukee Brewers Sign Another Free Agent
The Brewers signed infielder Christian Arroyo to a $1.5 million contract with a chance of earning an additional $500K in incentives if he makes the team after Spring Training.

Reading beyond his stats, everything I’ve saw suggests he is a great clubhouse/personality guy
No options left so assuming he signed a big league deal he will have to stay on the roster

During the 2023 season, Arroyo faced injuries, which allowed him to play in only 66 games. His performance during that time was average, with a .241 batting average, an OBS of .268, and an SLG of .369. However, his best seasons were in 2021 and 2022. In 57 games of the 2021 season, Arroyo had a batting average of .262, an OBS of .324, and an SLG of .445. Similarly, in 2022, he played in 86 games and had a batting average of .286, an OPS of .322, and an SLG of .414.
This looks to be a signing to possibly compete with the third base spot come spring training with Tyler Black.
