PETA Delivers A Shocking “Ten-Word” Verdict Amid UGA Mascot’s death

On the same day that Georgia’s beloved mascot Uga X died at the age of 10, PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman said the “‘winningest mascot’ in UGA’s history was born to lose.”

The school announced the news Tuesday about Uga X, who was with the Bulldogs as they won back-to-back College Football Playoff national titles from 2021-22, capping undefeated regular seasons.

“The ‘winningest mascot’ in UGA’s history was born to lose since, like all breathing-impaired breeds, he suffered from debilitating deformities such as an unnaturally shortened nose and airway that left him panting and gasping for air, particularly in the sweltering Southern heat,” Reiman said in a statement to AL.com.

“PETA is calling on the university to end its live-mascot program and to stop exploiting these victims of cruel breeding practices before another bulldog suffers and dies on its watch.”

Que officially became Uga X on Nov. 21, 2015, in what turned out to be Mark Richt’s final home gam at Georgia. The Bulldogs went 84-15 in the time Que was the mascot.

Uga X is succeeded by Uga XI, known as Boom, who took the mantle ahead of the 2023 season.
