Top linebacker who is a promising recruit from Georgia, was captivated by Glenn Schumann’s impact in-state.

The Peach State linebacker visited Athens for the first junior day of January.

Christian Gass’ phone has been as busy as anyone the last couple months.

The Eastside (Ga.) linebacker has seen his recruitment blow up since November. On Nov. 3, he picked up his first college offer from Marshall. He’s been on a streak of offers since that’s included some of the brand names — Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Southern Cal.

That list leaves off an important member of his growing offer sheet: Georgia, who extended its offer on Dec. 5.

Georgia’s football program has learned as well as anyone the importance of finding a center to anchor the offensive line.

Lamont Galliard, Trey Hill, and Sedrick Van Pran have shined in those roles in the Kirby Smart era. Jared Wilson appears to be next-in-line to fill that role.

Smart, of course, is already looking to the future, where the Bulldogs have their eye on Cortez Smith.
