Tottenham Hotspur will benefit from any sale of Jack Clarke as their former winger draws plenty of attention for his displays for Sunderland.

Now 23, Clarke struggled to break through at Spurs after arriving from Leeds as a teenager. However, since leaving the club for Sunderland he has soared and looks to be fulfilling the potential Tottenham first saw in him. This season alone he has netted 12 goals in 26 Championship matches from the left wing, while providing two assists, and he went on a run of scoring eight goals in 10 matches between September and November.

Last season he Clarke managed 11 goals and 14 assists in 50 matches for the Black Cats, helping them reach the Championship play-offs after playing his part in their promotion the year before from League One while on loan from Tottenham.

His displays as Sunderland’s top scorer this season have continued to catch the eye of plenty of Premier League clubs. Burnley wanted to sign him last season and reportedly had a £15million bid rejected for him and now West Ham and Crystal Palace, among other clubs from the top flight, are all said to be interested in the young attacker.

Tottenham will benefit from any sale as football.london understands that while the north London club only sold him for around £750,000 not including add-ons back in 2021, they did insert a sell-on clause of 25% in the deal.

Reports have suggested that Sunderland might be tempted by a bid north of £20million for Clarke, although the feeling around the club is that a mid-season move is less likely than one next summer. The Black Cats are currently sixth in the Championship table but without the winger’s goals would be closer to the other end of the league and any departure this month could derail their play-off hopes.

Centre-back Radu Dragusin is set to be announced on Thursday after an agreement was found with Genoa worth £21.5million and a further £4million in add-ons with Djed Spence heading to the Italian club on loan.

On top of that, Eric Dier is currently undergoing his medical in Germany ahead of a move to Bayern Munich which will bring in around £3.4million for a player who had just six months left on his contract. If Clarke were to leave Sunderland this month then Tottenham would be looking at another boost to their funds.
