Bruno Guimaraes has brilliantly reacted to Newcastle United’s victory over bitter rivals Sunderland.
The Brazilian was one of the stars of the show as the Magpies displayed their Premier League class to ease to a first Tyne-Wear derby in 12 years.
Guimaraes played a key role in the opener as he played a one-two with Joelinton, whose cross was turned into his own net by Dan Ballard.
Pierre Ekwah then gifted Newcastle a second just after half-time when Miguel Almiron robbed the Black Cats midfielder of possession and unselfishly set up Alexander Isak.
Isak then added a third in the 90th minute from the penalty spot after Anthony Gordon was fouled by Ballard.
After the game, Guimaraes took to X to tell supporters how he “predicted” United’s 3-0 win. Not long after signing for Newcastle, the midfielder beat Sunderland 3-0 on FIFA.
The seven-word post, which read “I knew it a long time ago” left co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi in stitches. He replied with two laughing emoji.
Newcastle’s victory against Sunderland was their first Tyne-Wear derby victory for 12 years. The two clubs last met almost eight years ago.
