Chris Sutton aims subtle dig at Celtic and Rangers during Hibs vs Hearts clash

Saturdays’ Old Firm clash will once again be played in front of home supporters only

Chris Sutton has aimed a subtle dig at Celtic and Rangers during tonight’s Edinburgh derby which is being played in front of a full away support.

Easter Road is sold out as Hibs take on Hearts with almost 4,000 Jambos supporters roaring their side on in the away end. Both sets of fans have been in full voice and a cracking atmosphere perhaps contributed to a fast start – with both sides winning early penalties but Lawrence Shankland and Martin Boyle both missing.

Sutton has been on co-commentary alongside Ian Crocker on Sky Sports and managed to get in a veiled did at his old club Celtic and their big rivals. Saturday’s Old Firm derby will once again be played in front of no the home support only and the Hoops rejected a request from Ibrox for an away allocation to be granted.
Early in the match tonight, Crocker said: The two have got their heads together to get a decent away support.”

Sutton replied: “It’s a shame it’s not like that everywhere.”

Sky were initially granted access-all-areas for tonight’s capital clash but it emerged earlier that some elements – a mic on home boss Nick Montgomery, bodycam on assistant Sergio Raimundo and access to what was said in the dressing room pre-match and at half time.

Chris Sutton slammed the SFA over the access being blocked but the governing body hit back and claimed it was IFAB who stepped in.
