“There was a Newcastle interest before I came here, but I’m really happy here. My family are really happy, the kids as well.”
James Tarkowski has revealed that he relished the brawl that erupted after the final whistle during Everton’s win over Newcastle United.
The defender later told the Liverpool Echo that the incident was over “just handbags.”
James Tarkowski put in another strong performance as Everton defeated Newcastle 3-0 on Thursday night.
As the Toffees won their fifth clean sheet in nine games, the centre-back won two tackles, three clearances, and four interceptions.
The Everton fans erupted following the final whistle, despite the fact that many players were distracted by the ensuing brawl between the two sides.
Both sets of players were arguing immediately after the game, with Tarkowski and Joelinton being hauled away by their teammates, while Jordan Pickford was also involved.
While Joelinton appeared enraged as he was dragged down the tunnel, Tarkowski has downplayed the full-time controversy.
“I just like pushing people around,” he explained. I just saw it start and ran up there, shoved a few people, got off, and smiled.
