“Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl believes that Owls’ standout player Anthony Musaba needs to embrace versatility by adapting to different positions on the field.
During the summer transfer window, Xisco Munoz acquired the 22-year-old winger from Ligue 1’s Monaco, and Musaba has made eleven appearances in the league for Sheffield Wednesday. Despite being primarily a right winger, Musaba has been deployed on the left in several matches, and in the most recent game against Rotherham, he played as an attacking midfielder.
Rohl emphasizes the importance of Musaba’s flexibility in playing on the left wing for the team. He praises Musaba’s ability to operate in the spaces between the lines but points out the need for improvement in ball retention and decision-making.
“In his case, it’s about increasing his positional adaptability. I’ve discussed this with him,” Rohl stated during a press conference. “He started on the right side and was consistently in the right areas. However, when he’s on the left, he drifts inside more, which is what we require. He exhibits a degree of flexibility in his playing style.”
Rohl also highlights Musaba’s strong inclination for operating between the lines, retaining possession, and making effective movements. He believes that the next phase of development for Musaba will involve enhancing his finishing abilities.
In the most recent match against Rotherham United, Musaba played a pivotal role in Sheffield Wednesday’s first Championship victory of the season, providing two assists.”
