Enzo Maresca gives Leeds United promotion verdict as Italian shares Farke moment

“Leicester City’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, expressed his thoughts on teams that have a chance at automatic promotion this season, and he included Leeds United in that conversation following the Whites’ 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium. The Italian coach recognized that the Friday night match between the two teams, currently holding the 1st and 3rd positions in the division, was an exciting spectacle for both the fans in the stadium and those watching on television.

After the game, Maresca had a conversation with Leeds boss Daniel Farke, where they discussed the high quality of the match. This exchange demonstrated the respect Maresca has for his counterpart, as he mentioned in his post-match comments.

He stated, ‘I just exchanged greetings with him, and it’s likely that both the spectators in the stadium and those watching on TV enjoyed the game. We are both working towards the same goal, even though there’s an 11-point difference in the current standings.’

Maresca repeatedly expressed his satisfaction with Leicester’s performance, despite the outcome, as it marked only the second defeat for the Foxes in their last 15 league matches this season. Meanwhile, Leeds’ away record now stands at four wins, three losses, and one draw. Maresca acknowledged, ‘Leeds is a very good team, with speed, danger, and strong technical skills. Overall, I’m content with our performance. We can’t win every game, and a loss is just a part of the overall process. There’s certainly room for improvement.
